In the heart of the Pisan Hills, with the typical landscapes of gentle slopes interspersed with small villages and discreet waterways along the road leading to Volterra is located Lajatico, one of the most beautiful and rich in history of the entire Val d’Era. It’s the land that inspired the art of Macchiaioli, it’s a magical place where the work of man managed to soften the appearance retaining its identity: the countryside is worked with care, with fruit trees that rule the plain, the hills arabesquised by olive groves and long rows of vines of the many farms that produce wine, oil, fruit, but also wheat and sunflower.
